How do I use Google Scholar?

Google Scholar™
Google Scholar™ covers publications from reputable scholarly publishers and associations. It covers a portion of the scholarly literature. We recommend that you use Google Scholar™ as a supplement to your searching of our Library Databases.
You can start up Google Scholar by going to scholar.google.com or by just searching for Google Scholar in google.
Using the Library's Find It! system with Google Scholar™
The Library's Find It! system will make the paid subscriptions of the Library available to your results from Google Scholar. (You will get more of the full articles that way). Once in Google Scholar, click on the gear/settings link in the upper right hand corner:
| 1. | Once in settings, click on "Library Links" on the left and then type in pomona in the search box and click the magnifying glass button. |
| 2. | Check the Cal Poly Pomona -Find it! option when it appears. |
| 3. | Click the Save button. |
When you do a search, Find It! will appear in some records on the right side:

Narrowing your search
If you are getting too many results, you may want to narrow your search. This can be done by using the Advanced Search screen. Click on the down arrow to the right of the search box to get the advanced search screen:
